Was Iman Shumpert Just Handed a Win in the Teyana Taylor Divorce Proceedings?

As the still-surprising divorce between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert continues to play out, it appears the NBA star may have just been handed a win in the case.

According to new court documents obtained by RadarOnline on Tuesday, it looks like Shumpert was granted temporary set custody time with their two daughters, 7-year old Iman “Junie” Tayla, and 3-year-old Rue Rose. Per the agreement, the court recently decided that Shumpert will have their children four to six days out of the month and will be required to pick them up and drop them back off at Taylor’s residence.

The “A Thousand and One” actress will keep primary custody until a new agreement has been decided in accordance with their divorce finalization.

This news comes just hours after Taylor received the prestigious Film Independent Spirit nomination for her role in the aforementioned film. on Sunday, she was also honored with the Breakthrough Performance Award from the Critics Choice Association Celebration of Cinema & Television.

Taylor’s first lead role, the A.V. Rockwell-directed film has received critical acclaim since winning the top prize at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. She’s also received nominations for Outstanding Lead Performance at the Gotham Awards and Best Actress from the Hollywood Critics Association Midseason Film Awards.

As previously reported by The Root, Taylor and Shumpert shocked the world when they revealed in September that they had been separated for months. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, it was also revealed that the “White Men Can’t Jump” actress quietly filed for divorce in January 2023.
