Bomani Jones to Host The Root 100 2016 Gala

The Root 100 is one of the biggest parties with a purpose that celebrates black excellence, activism and contributions to the world. This year’s list includes influential black people who have been responsible for some of the year’s most significant cultural moments, social movements and big ideas. Infiniti will serve as the presenting sponsor of this year’s annual gala, which takes place Monday night. We couldn't be more excited to announce that we've snagged quite the host with Bomani Jones.

The sports journalist, ESPN host, podcaster and "that guy" who wore the "Caucasians" shirt on Mike and Mike is going to be given a mic and free rein to say whatever he wants (within reason). Jones is not only the master of ceremonies but is also an honoree this year. He walks the line of sports and culture, confronts race head on and does it all with a charismatic sense of humor that makes him a crowd favorite.
