It seems 2023 couldn’t end without the news of yet another celebrity uncoupling. This week’s target? Tracey Edmonds and Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders.

Their split was made public via a joint announcement to Instagram posted by Edmonds late Sunday night. The two met in 2012 in what initially started off as just a work relationship, as Edmonds worked with Sanders to produce his popular 2014 reality show, Deion’s Family Playbook. They would start dating shortly after, ultimately leading up to their engagement in 2019.

“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love...We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together,” the statement read. “Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this transition. Thank you for being there for us ALL THESE YEARS! We love you and appreciate you SO MUCH!”

While the news of an uncoupling is hardly ever positive, Coach Prime seemed in good spirits during Monday morning’s episode of Good Morning America, telling George Stephanopoulos that fan’s can expect a “rollercoaster” in the upcoming season two of his Prime Video docuseries, aptly titled Coach Prime.

“You get to see the inside of the rollercoaster! We were up, we were down, we were in, we were out. But we never lost hope whatsoever,” he explained, later adding that he’s the “happiest man in the world” because he’s surrounded by his children and family and constantly watching them succeed.
