Apparently, Nicki Minaj is now in the mob movie era of her Pink Friday 2 rollout. On Saturday, the rapper channeled her inner Godfather with an Instagram Stories message for her enemies.

“If you had the opportunity to apologize and didn’t take it, always remember: you had the opportunity of a lifetime,” she wrote. “Pink Friday 2.”

No matter what you think of Nicki, you can’t deny that she knows how to promote a project. Whether she means this literally, and is planning to go scorched Earth on her enemies, or this is just a fun piece of promotional fodder is anyone’s guess. The “Fly” artist has explained that she’s back to being herself on the new album, so this message could be a continuation of that idea.

“When I look back at a lot of my music, I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, where was the me in it?’” Minaj told Vogue. “So for this album, I went back to the old game plan.”

She also opened up about how she didn’t always appreciate the way she looked when she was younger. She’s not a fan of looking at old photos of herself, because there was a time when all she saw were the flaws. However, now that she’s older and has experienced life a little more, including becoming a mother, “I love the way that person looks physically.”

“I didn’t like being skinny, having a flat butt, you know. Having boobs that didn’t sit high enough. It was a lot of things,” she said. “And when I look back at myself now, I literally was like, ‘Oh, I’m about to look like that girl again.’”

This all leads to the question: Which Nicki are we getting on Pink Friday 2? Is it the artist who showed her emotional growth while performing “Last Time I Saw You” at the 2023 MTV VMAs? Or is it the person who’s on social media promising to deliver wrathful vengeance to her enemies? Maybe it’s a little of both, which might make for an interesting album.
