As if Cardi B hasn’t been in the news enough lately for negative events — from modeling for the problematic brand Balenciaga to her continued legal battle with Tasha K — it looks like her love life could be on the rocks too.
Fans began to speculate that they were on the path to separation starting Monday night after they unfollowed each other on Instagram — one of the telltale signs of a breakup. On top of that, Cardi took to her Instagram Story and cryptically typed, “You know when you just outgrow somebody. I’m tired of protecting peoples feelings…I GOTTA PUT ME FIRST.”
Offset followed suit and posted a clip from “Scarface” about not trusting anyone.
The Cephuses have had a chaotic relationship since they got married in 2017, thanks largely to cheating allegations leveled against Offset. However, Cardi continued to stick by her man, have two children with him, release music with him, and support him wherever his career took him.
The script was flipped this June as Cardi became the center of a cheating rumor and Offset claimed, “My wife f*cked a N*gga on me gang yall n*ggas know how I come.” Cardi immediately shut down the rumors and the two made up, dropping the joint track “JEALOUSY.”
In the following months, Offset was by Cardi’s side for the MTV VMAs and bought her extravagant gifts for their anniversary and her 31st birthday in September and October. The “Bongos” rapper even took to social media to express her love for the Migos member on her birthday: “Thank you soo much babe @offsetyrn …you always go beyond for me. I love your skin, I love your face,I love your body, your ankles, I love your soul, I love your heart, I love your fart , I love your faith, I love your talent; I will BITE anybody for you lmaaooooo.”
Maybe all of those gifts and loud support for each other on social media was a way to cover up problems behind the scenes. Could cheating have happened again? Are the two even alluding to each other in those posts from last night or are they both upset at someone outside of their marriage? Maybe the two have finally had enough of the antics!
Either way, we all hope that the best thing happens for the sake of their peace and happiness, because the breakup rumors are getting old.
